I grew up in Glencoe, IL, and attended New Trier High School. I studied at Bradley University where I earned my bachelor’s and two master’s degrees. Prior to opening Bradley Sears Counseling I worked with a group psychotherapy practice and in a nursing home with its psychiatric population.
I hold Certificates in Mindfulness & Psychotherapy and Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. I also received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
I am interested in the relationship between psychological health and Buddhist meditation practices. I have attended meditation retreats around the country, including at the Chicago Zen Meditation Community, Ryumonji Zen Monastery, Barre Center for Buddhist Studies, Vallecitos Mountain Ranch, and Tassajara Zen Mountain Center.
In my spare time, I can be found sailing, acting, or sauntering through the woods with Gracie, my Bernese Mountain Dog.
